I'm a junior technical/game designer with a major interest in modular systems and compelling gameplay.
My main focus is on modular systems, allowing for easy expansion and constant additions to gameplay. I prototyped this in the black star detective, using scriptable objects to allow for easy expansion to major gameplay elements, such as suspects and evidence.
I aim for each game I develop to be different and have a lasting impact on players. Likewise, I want my games to stick in the memories of players, and for each one of them to have an enjoyable experience, that will have them looking forward to the next game I release, even if it is a completely different genre.
I have had a strong interest in gaming since I was a kid, and have always been intrigued in the inner workings of games, leading me to learn programming and experiment with game engines, starting with game maker 1.0, scratch, python and unity.
I now mainly focus on developing using Unreal Engine 5.0 and unity, with a budding interest in Godot.
I have a strong interest in Hiking, music, reading, manga, and the outdoors. I often go hiking, and have climbed the 3 highest peaks in the UK (Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell pike.).
In terms of music, I listen to a wide range, but mainly stick to these genres: Melodic death metal, Ska punk, punk, garage punk, death metal, and, tech death. I have a strong interest in putting my interest in music into my games, whether that is having a soundtrack that fits the game's themes, enhances gameplay or just creates a strong atmosphere. I believe music is extremely important in games, and a bad soundtrack could break a player's interest in continuing the game.
